Piano lessons for students of all levels and ages

Highly qualified and experienced teacher with a Master of Music degree (University of Music in Vienna, Austria)

Students learn to play piano in a happy way. I include the music, that students want to play into the lessons. I consider what are the strengths of the students and what are the particular needs to make good progress.

Many of my students achieved high marks in festivals and in the exams of the Royal Conservatory of Music in many different levels up to the highest grade, the ARCT (Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto) exam.

I offer in person lessons  and  online lessons.

Students that come to my home have their lessons on a high quality Bösendorfer grand piano

Flexible lesson schedule – regular weekly lessons,  lessons that are taken once in a while and also one time coaching

Students have the opportunity to perform in recitals

In Germany I taught piano at the music schools in Diessen and Marktoberdorf. In 2009 I moved to Canada and became piano teacher at the Langley Community Music School (British Columbia) and later at the Guelph School of Music. Currently I teach in St Thomas and London, Ontario, as well as online to students living in various places. In home lessons are offered on request.

In times past, during the ages that formed  the area of baroque, classical and romantic music, improvising at the instrument was much more commonly taught. Today improvisation is often associated with jazz improvisation. Yet that is only one way of improvising music. Students can just as well improvise in a classical style, or different styles of popular music. Or one can learn to improvise in the style of folk music, Celtic music, or in a romantic style, music of other cultures, or a cross over between various styles.

“Martin Anderle has taught piano, piano improvisation and composition for many years at the Guelph School of Music. Martin’s students have developed remarkable skills in piano improvisation and have composed beautiful piano music which they have performed in our school recitals. It has been a great joy to listen to Martin’s students and to see how they have progressed over the years. “Martin is an inspiring and passionate teacher who has extensive knowledge surrounding a wide variety of music. His dedication  and expertise have motivated me to play at my best, and through working with him, I have experienced great improvement in a short period of time. He is a great pianist, composer, and teacher, and is always a pleasure to learn from him.”
Calder Morton-Ferguson,
High school student, grade 12
"Ever since I began taking lessons with Martin, I have accelerated dramatically in my piano skills. The first piece, I learned with him, he suggested I play at the St Thomas Rotary Festival, and I did that and received a mark of 92. He has also helped me improve my theory knowledge. We worked through theory books and he explains everything clearly. You can tell he is passionate about his studies. Over all I am very happy how my lessons have been going. I am exited to continuo my lessons with him until I go to University to study music".
