About Stella
The beginning of my art and music journey
Born in Varna, on the shore of the Black Sea, I have grown in the colourful Bulgarian traditions and have been early influenced by my parents’ passion in visual arts and music, as well as by my grand-mother’s passion in sewing, knitting, flourishing our garden and weaving art in every day life.
Then, I moved to France where I lived for 20 years and got inspired by France’s unique, soft and yet powerful, landscapes, lavender fields, vibrant traditions and refined artistic culture. In France I have completed my artistic and music studies.
Presently, I live in Canada with my husband and talented musician, Martin Anderle. Both of us we love nature, and overflow with passion and enthusiasm for our artistic and creative activities. Martin and me, we love also working on common projects, combining art and music.
Multi-instrumentalist and talented musician
I started playing music at the age of five. My first instrument was accordion, followed by piano. And, at the age of 12, I won the national price of Bulgaria in playing accordion.
Since then, my interest in music grew steadily and I learned also to play many other instruments (violin, flute, harp and organ), as well as I studied harmony and composition.
Later, I obtained two Master degrees in the University of Lorraine, in France : Master degree in Musicology and Master in Music Education
Artistic journey
Concerning art, I studied illustration in the School for Design and Visual Arts – EDAA, in France (during 3 years), then 1 year in the School of Art of the University of Sorbonne – Paris. Later, I enjoyed specializing in surface pattern design. I present my artistic pattern design activity on my website stella-art-design.com. If you wish, you are welcome to visit it and discover more about my art as surface pattern designer.
My artistic approach is explorative, playful and nature-inspired. My major sources of inspiration are Nature, Music, Meditation and Traveling.
What I love the most in art is playfulness and creativity, combined with technique and mindfulness.
Engaging Teacher
I worked many years as music teacher and children’s choir conductor in secondary schools and lead a variety of music and art projects in primary schools in France.
I started teaching piano at the age of 20.
For several years I gave art classes as well as creative art workshops both at my private place and in an art studio.
Presently, I focus on developing creative online art and music workshops and organizing a yearly online festival on creativity.
When music meets art
From very early age, music and art shaped my growth and my development as a person, then became my passion and my profession.
I developed several projects combining art and music such as “art activities on music wings” and “creative concerts”. Some of them took place in
- The French Violin and Bow Making Museum – Mirecourt
- Many elementary schools
- Sommet de l’Éducation 2022 (Summit of Education 2022 – Festival of New Educational Paths)
- Festival de la Créativité 2022 and 2023
